Google’s new Fitbit Air Pokémon Sleep Edition turns your rest into reward
Google and Pokémon Company partner on sleep-tracking wearable tied to mobile game.Google Fitbit Air Pokémon SleepA fun way of tracking your healthGoogle has introduced the Fitbit Air Special Edition Pokémon Sleep, a limited-edition version of its Fitbit Air wearable designed to integrate with the mobile game Pokémon Sleep. The release coincides with Pokémon's 30th anniversary this year. The device uses the same lightweight, adjustable design as the standard Fitbit Air, intended for continuous overnight wear. Sleek textured strap in BlueThe special-edition band is finished in a blue colorway and includes a printed design referencing a sleeping Pikachu, a character from the Pokémon Sleep game.Sleep tracking is handled through the Google Health app, which uses algorithms to monitor light and deep sleep stages and provide users with sleep-related metrics and recommendations. A feature called Google Health Coach analyzes sleep trends over time and offers personalized suggestions. Buyers of the special-edition band will also receive a three-month trial of Google Health Premium, a subscription tier offering additional health-tracking tools. The device connects to the Pokémon Sleep app via Health Connect on Android or Apple Health on iOS, syncing sleep-duration data to the game. According to Google, the integration works with Pixel and other Fitbit wearables, not just the special-edition model.Pokemon SleepWithin the app, users' recorded sleep generates in-game elements: virtual Pokémon gather around a character called Snorlax based on the user's sleep patterns, and a calculated "Sleep Score"—derived from tracked sleep duration—contributes to an in-game statistic called "Drowsy Power," which influences which Pokémon appear in subsequent sessions.Setup requires linking the Google Health app to Health Connect or Apple Health, then pairing Google Health with the Pokémon Sleep app through the game's settings menu. Once connected, sleep data recorded by the tracker syncs to the game automatically.Google Fitbit Air key specs and features:Screenless, lightweight pebble design24/7 heart rate, SpO2, and sleep trackingAtrial fibrillation (AFib) alertsUp to 7-day battery life5-minute quick charge for one day of useCompatible with Android and iOSWater-resistant up to 50 metersWorks alongside the Pixel Watch for continuous health dataUS price with direct to PHP conversion (no taxes and duties yet):Google Fitbit Air - USD 129.99 (around PHP 8K)The Fitbit Air Special Edition Pokémon Sleep is available for preorder starting today through the Google Store and Target, both online and in physical locations, with shipping set to begin September 15.Source: Google
