At the lowest graphics settings, Genshin Impact is mostly playable, with slowdowns only occurring when the screen is filled with animations and characters. The phone warmed up after extended game time, but it never became alarmingly hot. The batteryREDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G's PCMark battery benchmark and YouTube loop resultThe phone features a massive 10,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging via USB-C.In the PCMark battery benchmark, the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max ran for 30 hours and 35 minutes, and the phone still had 20 percent battery left. And in our YouTube loop test, it ran YouTube continuously for 21 hours and 9 minutes and had 9 percent battery left.In our daily use, we would consistently not charge the phone for 3 days. This was with the phone being constantly connected to 5G and WiFi, with constant social media, e-mail, web-surfing, and media consumption.It takes 50 minutes to fully charge the battery from 0 percent to 100 percent with the included 100W charger.A phone and power bank in one!Our favorite feature is that it supports 27W reverse wired charging. This effectively makes the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G into a power bank.Fast 1.5K displayREDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G's front screenIn front is the 6.83-inch AMOLED screen with a 2772 x 1280 resolution, a 3,500 nits peak brightness, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an 8,000,000:1 contrast ratio. It supports 3,840hz PWM Dimming, a 240 Hz touch sampling rate, and 12-bit color depth. It covers the DCI-P3 wide color gamut and is Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protected. The panel is TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light, Circadian Friendly, and Flicker-Free Certified.It is bright and legible in direct sunlight. The images produced are vibrant with deep contrast. The details and text are crisp and sharp on the 1.5K panel.It supports 10-point multi-touch and features nearly symmetrical super-slim bezels around the phone. Overall, we love the panel, and we thoroughly enjoyed a ton of media consumption and mobile games on it.The phone comes with dual stereo speakers that support Dolby Atmos Hi-Res. It can be boosted to 400 percent, but we recommend keeping it at 80 percent of the fuller sounding and higher clarity sound. Above 90 percent, distortion keeps creeping in. It adds a system-wide HyperAI Suite. This means Xiaomi has integrated into the OS the AI Writing Assistant, AI Speech Recognition, and a real-time AI interpreter into the OS. HyperOS 3.0 also natively incorporates Google Gemini and Search out of the box.One of the most impactful changes is that HyperOS now comes with an updated system optimization engine that is certified to maintain like-new software smoothness for up to 6 years of use. Unfortunately, this will take 6 years to test, so we will see how it fares then.In general, the phone has been running smoothly for the majority of the time we used it. This includes unlocking the phone, opening the app drawer, opening apps, switching between apps, and navigating the UI.
