According to Liao, the company views on-device computing as a means to enable low-latency and personalized AI functions. This shared vision underpins the deep collaboration between OPPO and MediaTek on flagship chip platforms, accelerating the transition of on-device AI from technical concept to scalable deployment, Liao said.Using the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 platform, OPPO has developed on-device AI Translate and AI Portrait Glow features, which the company states perform at levels comparable to cloud-based solutions. These features are scheduled for release on the OPPO Find X9 series via the ColorOS 16 update.On-device Omni ModelAccording to OPPO, the on-device AI Translate operates without network connectivity and demonstrates an average 15 percent improvement in accuracy compared to conventional approaches. The new Android smartphones bring upgraded Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, refined transparent designs, and high-refresh-rate OLED displays to the market.  The standard Nothing Phone (4a) has a 6.78-inch 120Hz OLED screen; while the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro steps up to a larger 6.83-inch 144Hz AMOLED display and an aluminum unibody design. Both models retain the signature transparent rear panel. The base model screen reaches a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, and the Pro version reaches 5,000 nits. Qualcomm Snapdragon chips power the new smartphone lineup. The standard model utilizes the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, and the Pro version relies on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4.
