OPPO Reno15 F 5G Review – Good quality AI creator mid-range phone w/ 2-day battery
The new OPPO Reno15 F 5G recently arrived in the Philippines, the most affordable of the lineup.OPPO Reno15 F 5G back designOn paper, it appears to be a respectable smartphone with refined features catering to casual users and even up-and-coming creators. To recap, the phone features a stylish design, a 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 2.2GHz 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 octa-core chip, up to 12GB/256GB memory, a 7,000mAh battery, a 50MP + 8MP + 2MP rear camera, and a 50MP ultra-wide selfie snapper. For our review part 1: OPPO Reno 15F 5G Unboxing, First Look - Starter vlog phone meets massive batteryIs it really any good? Let's find out.Multimedia ExperienceThe displayThe OPPO Reno15 F 5G offers a 6.57-inch AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, up to 1,400 peak brightness, 92.8 percent screen-to-body ratio, 1.07 billion colors, 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, and is protected by AGC DT-STAR D+ and Gorilla Glass+ protection.Sharp display, nice colors as expectedPersonally, we enjoyed the display's sharp details thanks to the AMOLED technology and its Full HD+ resolution. Slim bezelsThere is a good balance of colors, contrast, and deep blacks, making it a suitable display for various tasks such as scrolling on social media, watching videos from Netflix or YouTube, and even gaming. The panel has a 120Hz base touch sampling rate, which is effective for typical use but can go up to 240Hz for casual gaming.Speaking of touch. We also liked that the screen is responsive even when your hands are wet or when you are using gloves. It allowed us to use the phone quickly when doing house chores or when raining outside. That is such a handy feature.Furthermore, the display also has an ultra-thin bezel, achieving a 92.8 percent screen-to-body ratio. Each side is equally symmetrical, making the viewing experience wider and enjoyable. The speakersIn terms of audio, the Reno15 F uses stereo speakers, with one on the bottom and one in the earpiece. The sound it produces is surprisingly good. There are clear details, good bass, mids, and highs. It is also super loud at max volume thanks to the 300 percent volume feature. Although keep in mind that at max you notice hisses, so better to maintain it at 75 to 85 percent volume for optimal sound.CamerasThe camerasFor the back cameras, the OPPO Reno15 F 5G uses a triple camera setup featuring a 50MP f/1.8 1/2-inch SC532HS OIS main camera with AF + 8MP OV08DD 16mm ultra-wide camera + 2MP f/2.4 OV02B macro camera.Rear Camera SamplesNature shot 1xThe phone's main camera takes impressive shots in areas with good lighting. We can see sharp details, good and accurate colors, as well as dynamic range for both 1x and 2x modes.Nature shot 2xThe camera can handle up to 2x in-sensor zoom, although as you go up further, you'll see the image quality becomes lower. At 5x, the image is still at the usable levels, but 10x becomes grainier. That's all because the F models are known for not having a telephoto sensor.1x vs 10xUltra-wide sampleThe ultra-wide sensor will give you wider pictures at the expense of slightly lesser image quality and mini changes in terms of colors of the scene.Still, if you are a fan of portrait photography, the 26mm and 52mm lenses will not fail you. Take a look at our sample below.Portrait mode 52mmUltra-wide vs 1x indoorFor indoor shots, image quality remains strong. We captured detailed interior scenes with good color accuracy. 2x indoorThat consistency carries over to 2x zoom, where the digital crop holds up well in detail and contrast—though again, pushing beyond that does lead to noticeable drop-off.Fine details on foodAdditionally, sharpness and color reproduction in the food shots are especially good. It is vibrant, crisp, and is ready for sharing on IG stories.1x food shotClose-up 1x on food1x night shot2x night shotFor lowlight, we are generally getting good output for both 1x and 2x. Yes, there is minimal noise visible, but it still has good colors and details, which is commendable for such a dark environment.Ultra-wide low lightFor ultra-wide mode, the colors are still there, some lights are bleeding, the trees have a lesser dynamic range, and there's much more visible noise. Also, focus seems to have struggled here as well. The OPPO Reno15 F uses a 50MP Samsung JN5 ultra-wide selfie camera. This has a 2x mode, Portrait mode, and tSelfie Camera SamplesUltra-wide selfie (0.6)This sensor is commonly used as an ultra-wide module for flagship or upper mid-range devices, at least on the rear. This time, OPPO decided to use it in the front camera, which allowed us to take that 0.6, also known as the Gen Z shot, without losing much detail compared to traditional selfie sensors. 1x modeThere's also 1x mode for standard focal length, which provides nearly the same high-quality image with good colors and dynamic range.2x modeFurthermore, the sensor is also capable of delivering 2x crop with good details, but its edge detection is not perfect. You can also use the portrait mode to achieve artificial blur in the background. It makes a nice separation from the subject, emphasizing our face better.Portrait modeFor low light, it takes surprisingly good shots, too. There is reduced dynamic range in the background and noise visible, but details on the face were retained, and it has nice colors as well.1x low light selfieUltra-wideUsing ultra-wide gets a wide background, but that also means more noise and lower dynamic range. The colors here were slightly dark on the background and the face.2x low lightAt 2x, the face looks a little bit brighter, with more noise and grains in the background, and the hair looks softer. For the video, both the rear cameras capture nice details too. They are capable of recording 4K, 1080p, and 720, but all are limited to 30 fps due to the processor choice for this device. You can press the stabilization, which will limit you to 1080p 30 fps only. One vlogging-friendly feature that we liked is the Dual-View Video. This allowed us to capture from the POVs of the back and front cameras simultaneously, perfect for creating content. You may access this feature by swiping left until you reach the "more " section.Furthermore, OPPO Reno 15F also lets you take photos and videos at your pool parties by activating the underwater feature. The screen will still function normally even when the device is submerged. If you want to exit the mode, you can hold down the power button for a few seconds, then the phone will prompt to remove water, and it's back to normal.PerformanceThe phone uses a 2.2GHz 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 octa-core processor with Adreno GPU. Our unit has 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The RAM is extended virtually by default by another 8GB as well.OPPO Reno15 F 5G benchmarks:The benchmarksAnTuTu - 810,162 pointsGeekbench - 875 single-core, 2448 multi-core3D Mark - 2482 overall points, 14.86 average FPSCPDT - 421.8MB/s sequential write speed, 616.3MB/s sequential read speedThese numbers are far from the fastest for the price, but reaching above 800K in AnTuTu means it will perform decently for daily tasks and a few games.Lower than expected raw power for the price, but enough for casual usersThis is the 3rd time that OPPO used this processor from Reno13 F 5G, Reno14 F 5G, and now Reno15F 5G. It would have been nicer if it used a newer processor like the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 found on similarly priced or even lower phones. In real-world usage, the chip + OPPO's trinity engine gives an overall smooth usage when using social media, web browsing, streaming, or gaming. So far, we haven't experienced slowdowns despite opening multiple apps at once, including those power-hungry Chrome tabs, coupled with Facebook and IG.The game settingsFor gaming, it is capable of running Mobile Legends: Bang Bang at max graphics, but the support for the chip limits the frame rate to 90 fps only. While we are used to 120Hz, the 90 frame rate is more than enough to give us a smoother playing experience than traditional 60 fps. The phone was still able to match our reflexes on higher-tier rank games and did not give us any dips, even on intense clashes. We also tried the performance of the phone in a much heavier game called Where Winds Meet. In this game, we are able to get a playable frame rate of 30 fps at the lowest settings. You can squeeze it to balance graphics, but it will give frame dips in battle, which might affect your gameplay. Ultimately, we suggest tweaking the settings in custom mode to achieve your desired frame rate and visuals.Thermally, the phone didn't heat up during our test on Mobile Legends. But there's some warming on the graphically heavier Where Winds Meet game.Battery usageIn terms of battery, we really struggled draining the phone's juice for an entire day. You still get more than half on average usage. For intense, you'll be left with around 30 percent, which is still enough to last up to the next day.Impressive battery performanceIf you're using it as a backup device, it can even reach 3 days and still have a lot left in the tank, which is how impressive its standby time is.Connectivity-wise, the data connection is generally okay; we are still getting a full bar despite being in a subdivision far from a cell tower. Its WiFi reception is outstanding. It didn't take long to download our games thanks to AI LinkBoost and 6th-gen WiFi.OPPO Reno15 F 5GOn the software side, the phone runs on Android 16 with ColorOS.AI featuresIt comes with a plethora of AI features such as AI Flash Photography 2.0, AI Portrait Glow for optimizing lighting, Popout for blending multiple photos in one, AI Motion Photo Slow-Mo, and Motion Photo Eraser. The AI Flash Photography 2.0, as the name suggests, uses your phone's flash together with the built-in AI to produce accurate lighting for your subject. The AI Portrait Glow works in a similar way, as this feature applies the right lighting to your portraits depending on the environment you are shooting in.The Pop-out feature enables users to combine three photos into one, so it's like 3 POVs in just one frame, letting you express creativity in just a few taps.Meanwhile, the AI Motion Photo Slow-Mo feature turns your ordinary video into a slow-motion scene, making it more expressive and dramatic reel to share on your social media.Lastly, the AI Motion Photo Eraser feature lets you now remove the unwanted people in the background. With OPPO's improved Trinity Engine, the phone is promised to have a guarantee of 5 years of fluency, making your phone usable for many years.Pros - Durable and stylish body, triple IP rating, good display, decent RAM and storage, long battery life and fast charging, good rear and selfie camera, many AI creator featuresCons - While performance is decent, it could use a more modern chip, big price jumpOPPO Reno15 F 5G SpecsDisplay: 6.57-inch Corning Gorilla Glass+, AGC-DT Star+ protected AMOLED screen w/ 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, FHD+ 2372 x 1080 resolution at 397 ppiCPU: 2.2GHz 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 octa-core processorGPU: AdrenoRAM: 8GB/12GB LPDDR4XROM: 256GB/512GB UFS 3.1Back Camera: 50MP f/1.8 w/ AF, 2-axis OIS + 8MP f/2.2 116-degree ultra-wide-angle w/ AF + 2MP f/2.4 macro + LED flashSelfie Camera: 50MP f/2.0 100-degree JN5 sensor w/ AF Battery: 7,000mAh w/ USB-C 80W SUPERVOOCOS: Android 16 w/ ColorOS 16Connectivity: WiFi 6 2x2 MIMO, 5G SA/NSA, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.4 LE (SBS, AAC, aptX HD, LDAC, LHDC5.0), OTG, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, BDS, dual SIM (nano)Sensors: Accelerometer, light, orientation, proximity, gyroscope, sound, magneticOthers: In-Display fingerprint sensor, IP66/68/69 dust and water resistance, stereo speakers, 3x microphones, AI X-axis linear motor, Multi-Cooling System, Colors: Aurora Blue, Twilight Blue, Aurora WhiteDimensions: 158.18 x 74.93 x 8.14 mm (Twilight Blue, Afterglow Pink), 8.27 mm (Aurora Blue, Aurora White)Weight: 195 g (Afterglow Pink, Twilight Blue), 202 g (Aurora)Price: PHP 23,999 (8GB/128GB), PHP 25,999 (8GB/2566GB), PHP 28,999 (12GB/256GB)VerdictVibrant displayThe OPPO Reno15 F 5G brings several qualities you'd expect from a modern smartphone. It features an attractive design, solid build quality + triple IP rating, a capable display, a very long battery, and a reliable set of cameras plus AI-powered features for creative flexibility. That said, OPPO hasn't been immune to the recent increase in RAM and memory pricing. Last year, the 8GB/256GB model launched at PHP 21,999. This time around, the base variant starts at PHP 23,999 for 8GB/128GB, while the 8GB/256GB option is priced at PHP 25,999—a PHP 4,000 jump compared to last year's equivalent.Performance is still generally smooth, but the chipset feels due for an upgrade. It's been in use since the Reno13 F days, and competing devices in the same bracket now offer more powerful processors. All things considered, if you're in the market for a new phone and the Reno15 F 5G's strengths align with your priorities, it's worth a look. However, if you're currently using a Reno13 F or 14 F, you may want to hold your wallet for now. What do you guys think?

vivo Confirms V70 FE with 200MP Camera, Zsiga Collaboration
MANILA - vivo is set to introduce the vivo V70 FE, a new addition to its fashion-led lineup that continues the series’ focus on imaging and design. Positioned as a lightweight flagship, the V70 FE places photography at the center of experience, led by a confirmed 200MP camera system that immediately distinguishes it within its segment. As competition across the mid-to-upper range intensifies, the move signals a confident step from vivo - one that sharpens its positioning as a brand that balances technical innovation with style-driven appeal.Beyond hardware, vivo is also leaning further into youth culture through a creative collaboration with POP MART Zsiga, adding a layer of personality that extends the device’s relevance beyond specifications alone. One shot, enlarged to 900%: How 200MP expands possibilitiesThe headline feature of the vivo V70 FE is straightforward: 200MP imaging. With this level of resolution now confirmed, attention naturally shifts to what it enables in everyday use. A single shot captured on the V70 FE is designed to retain impressive clarity even when significantly enlarged or cropped, opening up more flexibility from just one frame. This becomes especially relevant in the context of short trips and spontaneous travel. With limited time and constantly shifting scenes, users are often unable to perfect framing in the moment. The V70 FE addresses this through a “capture first, refine later” approach, where one high-resolution image can be adjusted afterward without compromising detail.Starting from such a high level of clarity allows users to crop into a subject within a busy environment, reframe architectural elements, or extract multiple compositions from a single photo. In fast-moving, real-world scenarios, this flexibility turns a single capture into a range of creative outputs. As a lightweight and easy-to-carry device, the vivo V70 FE is positioned as a practical companion for users who want to document moments as they happen, while preserving the details that make each shot meaningful.Captured moments meet self-expression with POP MART ZsigaThe conversation around the vivo V70 FE extends beyond imaging.Through its collaboration with POP MART Zsiga, vivo introduces a creative direction that aligns with how younger audiences approach photography today. Known for its distinct personality and expressive design, Zsiga represents individuality, an idea that increasingly shapes how moments are captured and shared.Images are no longer treated purely as documentation, but as a form of self-expression. In this context, the integration of Zsiga adds a layer of storytelling that complements the V series’ fashion-forward identity. This is not the first time vivo has explored this partnership. A previous collaboration with POP MART Zsiga generated strong engagement, and its return with the V70 FE suggests a continued focus on merging technology with creative culture. Extending this visual narrative, the V70 FE also introduces the Muse Purple colorway, an expressive finish that reflects the same sense of personality and style.Short trips and unplanned getaways continue to reshape how moments are captured. Within this shift, the vivo V70 FE positions its 200MP camera as a key advantage, delivering high-detail images that can adapt to changing scenarios without requiring multiple retakes.Combined with the creative influence of POP MART Zsiga, the device presents a refreshed V series experience where clarity meets self-expression. The vivo V70 FE is set to officially launch on April 12 at 5:00 PM via Facebook livestream. Viewers are encouraged to mark themselves as “Going” to stay updated and not miss the full reveal. As the launch approaches, more details are expected to surface. Stay tuned!
