Xiaomi SkyNomad Series Debuts with Up to 1,705 km Driving Range

Xiaomi has officially introduced the SkyNomad Series, marking the debut of the first model built on its all-new Kunlun Platform. Designed with families in mind, the new extended-range SUV lineup puts a strong emphasis on cabin space, seating flexibility, long-distance capability, and intelligent technology. The lineup consists of two models: the Xiaomi SkyNomad N90 Max, a flagship seven-seater extended-range SUV, and the Xiaomi SkyNomad N70 Max, a five-seat AWD extended-range SUV. Rather than focusing purely on performance, Xiaomi says the SkyNomad Series was developed around how families actually use their vehicles every day, from school runs and road trips to outdoor adventures.Designed from the Inside OutUnlike many SUVs that prioritize exterior styling before interior packaging, Xiaomi says the SkyNomad was designed around its cabin first. The result is a more spacious interior with a completely flat floor stretching from the front seats to the cargo area. The flagship SkyNomad N90 Max measures 5,285 mm long, 1,998 mm wide, and 1,825 mm tall, while the SkyNomad N70 Max comes in at 4,960 mm long, 1,998 mm wide, and 1,765 mm tall. Despite the different sizes, both models are built to maximize usable cabin space while maintaining the look and stance of a traditional SUV.Xiaomi also paid attention to everyday usability. Rear doors open to nearly 90 degrees for easier entry and exit, while smart electric doors can be operated using touch or voice commands. An AI-powered anti-collision system can even detect nearby obstacles and prevent the doors from opening into them.Spacious Cabin with Flexible SeatingOne of the biggest highlights of the SkyNomad Series is its reconfigurable interior. The flat-floor layout allows passengers to move around the cabin more easily, while long sliding seat rails enable switching between multiple seating and cargo configurations. Whether carrying seven passengers, transporting large items, or setting up a sleeping area during camping trips, the interior can be adapted to suit different needs. The SkyNomad N90 Max offers up to 2,760 mm of total occupant space, with generous second-row legroom and a maximum cargo capacity of 1,831 liters when additional storage is needed.Xiaomi says the SUV can comfortably carry seven passengers along with seven 20-inch suitcases, while folding the seats creates enough room for larger camping equipment or bulky luggage.Practical touches are found throughout the cabin, including 34 storage compartments, a large front glovebox, multiple accessory mounting points, and a sliding center console equipped with 50W wireless charging, USB-C ports, and a built-in 9-liter refrigerator.Premium Interior Designed for Long DrivesThe cabin uses soft-touch materials across most high-contact surfaces, creating a cleaner and more premium feel. Xiaomi says the materials used inside the N90 Series are OEKO-TEX certified, meeting standards designed to reduce exposure to harmful substances.Comfort is another area where the company has invested heavily. The front seats come standard with heating, ventilation, and 16-point massage functions, while selected configurations offer up to four zero-gravity seats for improved comfort during longer journeys.Depending on the seating layout, the front seats can also rotate, turning the cabin into a lounge-like space for passengers during rest stops or while parked.Up to 505 km of Electric Driving RangePowering the SkyNomad Series is Xiaomi's new Kunlun HyperRange extended-range electric system. The SkyNomad N70 Max delivers up to 505 km of pure electric driving range (CLTC), which Xiaomi claims is the highest among extended-range SUVs in its class. The larger SkyNomad N90 Max offers up to 464 km of electric-only driving. When the battery and gasoline-powered range extender work together, the N90 Max is capable of traveling up to 1,705 km on a full charge and full tank, making it suitable for long-distance travel with fewer charging or refueling stops. The extended-range system also improves efficiency, while scheduled maintenance is required only every 30,000 km or three years after the first service.Safety Remains a PriorityXiaomi has equipped the SkyNomad Series with its Armor Cage body structure, combining high-strength steel and aluminum alloy to improve occupant protection in different types of collisions. The flagship N90 Max comes standard with 12 airbags, including protection for third-row passengers. Additional safety systems include LiDAR-assisted driver assistance, 4D millimeter-wave radar, multiple collision sensors, AI-assisted door protection, and emergency mechanical door releases. The new Armor Scale Battery has also been designed with multiple structural and thermal protection layers to improve durability and battery safety under demanding conditions.Connected Smart CabinThe infotainment system is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform, providing faster processing and improved AI performance. The cabin also supports dual 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 7, a 25-speaker premium audio system, a customizable head-up display, and a rear touchscreen that allows passengers to control various vehicle functions.Xiaomi's Hyper XiaoAi voice assistant can adjust seating positions, lighting, air conditioning, and other cabin settings using voice commands, making it easier to control multiple functions without taking your hands off the wheel.Built for Comfortable Everyday DrivingThe flagship N90 Max features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 310 kW of power, along with a double-wishbone front suspension, multi-link rear suspension, adjustable air suspension, and a 5.95-meter turning radius for improved maneuverability. These upgrades are intended to provide a comfortable ride for daily commuting while maintaining stability during long highway trips.Pricing and AvailabilityThe Xiaomi SkyNomad Series is now available for pre-order in China. Customers who place a RMB 1,000 deposit will receive priority production scheduling, along with a complimentary in-car dual-cupholder table worth RMB 999 upon delivery.Official pre-sale pricing is as follows:    Xiaomi SkyNomad N90 Max Flagship 7-Seater Extended-Range SUV – RMB 299,900 (approximately ₱2.40 million)    Xiaomi SkyNomad N70 Max 5-Seat AWD Extended-Range SUV – RMB 259,900 (approximately ₱2.08 million)The Philippine peso prices are estimated conversions based on current exchange rates. TECNO teased a smartphone w/ 0mm bezels

Is this the first true bezelless smartphone?Screenshot from TECNO's YouTube pageThe future of smartphone screen bezelsTECNO today revealed a teaser showing its upcoming concept smartphone with probably the slimmest bezels in the world yet.Super-slim bezelsAccording to its post and the video teaser on YouTube, the handset will feature 0mm bezels. A true 0mm screen bezel that pushes beyond visual boundaries. Meet the TECNO Next-Gen Bezelless Concept Phone. In comparison, this is way thinner than the  0.98mm ultra-thin symmetrical bezels of the HONOR 600 Pro, which is thinner than the 1.36mm of the iPhone 17 Pro.Will it work in real life?On paper, this concept sounds very impressive as it'll make the display experience more immersive and futuristic-looking than the competition.TECNO's challenge here is how to make this durable. Smartphones with slimmer bezels have less protection for the screen edges and are more likely to crack when dropped. But knowing TECNO, they probably have a solution to prevent that scenario from happening. The company said that this will premiere at the IFA 2026 Showstoppers.IFA 2026 is happening from September 4 to 8, 2026, at the Messe Berlin exhibition grounds in Berlin, Germany. What do you guys think?
