Samsung recently unveiled the new 990 SSD, a solid-state drive that promises to be great for heavy creative workloads and gaming. This new SSD is available in 1TB and 2TB storage variants. The 2TB model can deliver a sequential read speed of up to 7,250 megabytes per second (MB/s), while the 1TB model reaches up to 7,150 MB/s. What they have in common, though, is PCIe 4.0 support and the latest NAND technologies, along with sequential write speeds of up to 6,450 MB/s for faster file transfers.
