Nothing Phone 2 won’t go past Android 16, and here’s why the flagship phone will miss the Android 17-based Nothing OS 5.0 update. Nothing CEO Carl Pei confirmed the news after someone on Reddit asked for more software updates for the 2023 phone. Pei said that the chip maker no longer supports newer Android versions. The phone’s kernel is also too old to support the new software. This means the Nothing Phone 2 will stop getting major OS updates after reaching Android 16.
