Googlebook Could Be the Future of AI-Powered Laptops

More than 15 years after launching the first Chromebook, Google says the way people use computers is changing again. Instead of focusing mainly on operating systems, the company now views laptops as evolving into what it calls an “intelligence system,” with AI becoming a core part of the user experience. The result is Googlebook, a laptop platform that combines Google’s browser experience, Android apps through Google Play, and Gemini-powered AI features into one system. According to Google, Googlebooks are designed to work naturally with the devices people already use every day, while also offering premium hardware and modern designs from major PC brands.Built Around Gemini IntelligenceOne of the biggest features coming to Googlebook is Magic Pointer, a new Gemini-powered cursor experience developed with Google DeepMind. Instead of acting like a normal cursor, it can trigger contextual actions directly on screen. Users can point at a date in an email to instantly create a meeting or combine images, like a living room photo and a couch, for quick visual previews.Google is also introducing Create your Widget, which lets users build custom desktop widgets using prompts. Gemini can pull data from apps like Gmail and Google Calendar to create personalized dashboards with travel info, reservations, reminders, and more in one place.Designed to Work With Android PhonesGooglebook is also built for tighter Android integration. Users can access phone apps directly from the laptop without downloads or emulators, making it easier to jump into apps while staying focused on work. There’s also Quick Access, a feature that lets users browse and use files stored on their phones directly from the laptop without manually transferring them.Premium Hardware From Major BrandsGoogle confirmed that the first Googlebooks will come from partners including Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo. The company says the devices will feature premium materials, multiple form factors, and a unique Glowbar design element. While hardware specs and pricing are still under wraps, Google says more details will arrive later this year.More Details Coming SoonGooglebook is still in its preview stage, but it already gives a glimpse of Google’s AI-first vision for future laptops. Instead of AI being treated as an extra feature, Google wants Gemini to become part of the everyday computing experience itself. More announcements and device launches are expected this fall.-Subscribe to our social media channels: Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Twitter, and YouTube. to receive the latest news and updates.
