Samsung Flex Titanium: How It Improves Foldable Displays
Foldable smartphones continue to evolve as manufacturers look for ways to make them thinner, stronger, and more comfortable to use every day. One of the biggest challenges has been improving durability, while reducing display crease visibility without sacrificing flexibility. Built with Samsung’s end-to-end foldable innovation, the new Flex Titanium display engineering enhances durability and reduces crease visibility for a more refined foldable experience. What Is Samsung Flex Titanium?Samsung Flex Titanium is Samsung's latest foldable display technology for the next generation of Galaxy foldable devices. It combines two titanium-based components—a titanium-alloy film and a titanium plate—with a redesigned display structure to improve durability, reduce crease visibility, and create a more immersive viewing experience.“Samsung’s strength in the foldable category comes from connecting user needs with our technologies that deliver tangible benefits in everyday life,” said Sunghoon Moon, EVP and Senior Executive, Mobile R&D Office - H/W, Samsung Electronics. “For the next generation of Galaxy foldables, Samsung is building on years of expertise to bring display innovations into devices that enhance user experiences, anchored by exceptional viewing experiences.”Why Samsung Chose Titanium for Foldable DisplaysSamsung has played a leading role in advancing mobile display innovation and bringing it to consumers at scale through mobile devices. This legacy includes the widespread adoption of AMOLED displays in 2007 and the evolution of displays into flexible form factors.Innovative technologies can only reach their full potential and provide meaningful user experiences through continuous refinement in real-world conditions, and the foldable category is no exception. Across seven generations of Galaxy foldables, Samsung has listened closely to consumer feedback. This has given the company a deep understanding of what users expect from the category: a larger, more immersive viewing experience with less visible crease — without compromising durability or portability. To meet these expectations, Samsung had to rethink how foldable displays are constructed by bringing together breakthroughs in technology, materials and mechanical engineering. The result is the latest milestone in foldable display innovation: Flex Titanium technology. By successfully integrating display innovation with device engineering, Samsung will continue to shape the direction of the mobile industry and deliver standout user experiences. To create a display that provides an immersive viewing experience while maintaining its ability to withstand everyday use, Samsung took a new approach to structural design. This required a material strong enough to withstand external shock, flexible enough to endure repeated folding and thin enough to fit within a refined device structure. Balancing all three factors was essential to advancing foldable displays — and titanium offered the right mix.Known for its resilience and strength, titanium has been used in some of the most demanding applications, including satellite antennas and the wheels of a Mars rover. While its strength makes titanium a dependable material, it also presents significant engineering challenges when applied to the thin and flexible structure of a foldable display due to its stiffness. Drawing on its expertise, Samsung has integrated titanium into two key components: a titanium-alloy film and a titanium plate. Two Titanium Components Work TogetherThe titanium-alloy film is a component that supports the display from within, sitting below the OLED panel. Compared with polymer film, it provides 20 times greater mechanical stiffness. A precision rolling process makes the material exceptionally thin — measuring roughly one-third the thickness of an average human hair — enabling a slimmer display panel. For users, this allows Samsung to build a thinner display while maintaining the structural support needed for repeated folding.Below this sits a robust titanium plate, a flexible structure that supports the display module from beneath. It allows tighter bonding with the display module by eliminating air gaps between the module and the adhesive on the plate through advanced hole processing technology. The redesigned support structure helps stabilize the display when fully open while preserving the flexibility required for everyday folding.Furthermore, by integrating a high-resolution architecture and next-generation organic materials, the new display delivers ultra-vivid display resolution while reducing power consumption — delivering a dramatic boost in overall power efficiency.“By introducing sophisticated micro-patterned holes to the folding section of the titanium plate, we have successfully secured flexibility with robust durability,” said Kyung-Jin Yoo, EVP and Head of Mobile Display Product Development Team, Samsung Display. “Combining high-resolution display architecture with new organic materials that maximize power efficiency, we will further strengthen the competitiveness of next-generation Galaxy foldable devices."Together, these advancements create a foldable display that combines strength, flexibility, and structural stability while reducing crease visibility and delivering a more immersive viewing experience. The redesigned structure also allows Samsung to maintain a slimmer device without compromising durability.Flex Titanium will debut on Samsung's next generation of Galaxy foldable devices, with more details expected at Galaxy Unpacked. Interested buyers can register at samsung.com/ph/unpacked to receive a ₱2,000 e-voucher and a chance to win Samsung's newest Galaxy device.

TCL Super-QD MiniLED: Here’s How It Improves Picture Quality
MANILA – Television technology continues to evolve as more people look for brighter displays, richer colors, and better picture quality for movies, sports, games, and streaming. TCL's new Super-QD MiniLED (SQD MiniLED) builds on the company's Mini LED technology by combining more precise light control, richer color performance, and refined display technologies to deliver a better viewing experience. TCL X11L showcases the company's new Super-QD MiniLED display technology. Three Technologies Behind TCL Super-QD MiniLEDTCL improves picture quality through three key technology advancements: Precise Dimming, Super QLED, and Ultra Color Filter. Together, they enhance backlight control, color performance, and color accuracy.1. Precise Dimming enhances backlight control through upgraded light-emitting chips, next-generation micro-lens technology, reduced halo interference, micro-OD design, and advanced light control algorithms. The result is higher brightness, better uniformity, improved dark-scene performance, smoother motion, and a slimmer TV profile.2. Super QLED takes color performance further with 33% wider color gamut, 17% higher color purity, and 45% blue light energy optimization. This delivers richer colors, purer expression, and a more comfortable viewing experience.3. Ultra Color Filter improves color filtering precision with upgraded materials and a refined process developed over five years. With particle sizes smaller than 5 nanometers, it helps reduce color impurities and restore colors more accurately on screen. Super Quantum Crystal expands color performance compared with conventional Quantum Crystal technology. TCL X11L Showcases the New TechnologyThe TCL X11L is one of the first televisions to showcases the company's latest Mini LED TV technology. TCL describes it as the world's first Super-QD MiniLED flagship TV.At CES 2026, it received the Innovative Display Technology Gold Award at the GTB Awards, a respected global consumer electronics honor founded by International Data Group (IDG) and supported by IDC.Built on TCL's Mini LED LeadershipThe introduction of Super-QD MiniLED also comes as TCL continues to strengthen its position in the global television market."TCL's mission has always been to make advanced technology accessible while continuing to push the boundaries of what display products can do.
