Nothing Phone (4a) launched in PH: Specs, Price, and Features

Nothing is back again, and this time it’s the Nothing Phone (4a) making its way to the Philippines. If you’ve seen previous Nothing phones, you already know what to expect, a design that stands out the moment you pull it out of your pocket. The Phone (4a) isn’t just about looks anymore. It positions itself as a more complete everyday device, covering essentials like social media, photography, and light gaming without overcomplicating the experience. The Nothing Phone (4a) retains its signature transparent back, now presented with a cleaner and more refined layout. The overall design appears less cluttered, resulting in a more polished look compared to previous iterations. The Glyph Bar remains integrated into the rear panel, functioning as a visual notification system that lights up for alerts, timers, and incoming calls. Beyond aesthetics, it adds a layer of utility by offering quick visual cues without requiring users to interact with the display. The device comes in Black, White, Blue, and Pink. Among these, the Blue and Pink variants offer a more distinct appearance, especially when light reflects across the transparent rear panel. The Phone (4a) features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display paired with a 120Hz refresh rate, providing smooth transitions across the interface. Scrolling, animations, and video playback benefit from the higher refresh rate, while the panel’s brightness allows for better visibility outdoors.Powering the device is the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, combined with up to 12GB of RAM and storage options reaching 512GB.The hardware configuration places the Phone (4a) firmly within the midrange category, capable of handling daily tasks, multitasking, and moderate gaming workloads. The focus here is on consistency rather than peak performance, ensuring stable operation across common use cases. The camera system consists of a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP telephoto lens with optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera, alongside a 32MP front-facing shooter. The inclusion of a dedicated telephoto lens adds flexibility, allowing for more controlled zoom without the immediate drop in quality seen in digital zoom alone. Overall, the setup is designed to deliver consistent results across different shooting conditions, with an emphasis on balanced image output. The device is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery supported by 50W fast charging. This capacity supports a full day of typical usage, covering activities such as browsing, streaming, and photography.Fast charging allows for shorter downtime when recharging, although wireless charging is not part of the feature set.Running on Nothing OS based on Android 16, the software experience remains one of the device’s defining aspects. The interface is kept clean and minimal, avoiding unnecessary pre-installed applications and maintaining a near-stock Android feel.Nothing Phone (4a) Key SpecsOS: Android 16, Nothing OS 4.1 (up to 3 major Android upgrades)Display: 6.78-inch AMOLED, 2720 × 1224, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, 2160Hz PWM dimming, up to 4500 nits peak brightness, Corning® Gorilla® Glass 7iProcessor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 (4nm), Octa-core (1× Cortex-A720 2.7GHz + 3× Cortex-A720 2.4GHz + 4× Cortex-A520 1.8GHz), GPU: Adreno 810RAM and Storage: 8GB + 128GB / 256GB, 12GB + 256GB (UFS 3.1)Rear Cameras: 50MP main (f/1.9, OIS) + 50MP periscope telephoto (f/2.9, 3.5x optical zoom, OIS) + 8MP ultra-wide (f/2.2)Front Camera: 32MP (f/2.2)Rear Video: 4K at 30fps, 1080p up to 120fps, gyro-EIS, OIS, Dolby Vision HDRFront Video: 1080p at 30fpsConnectivity: Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, USB Type-C 2.0, OTGMobile Data: 2G / 3G / 4G LTE / 5G, Dual nano-SIMNavigation: GPS, GALILEO, GLONASS, BDS, QZSSAudio: Stereo speakersDimensions: 164 × 77.6 × 8.6 mmDurability: IP64 dust and splash resistance, Gorilla Glass 7i frontBattery: 5080mAh (global) / 5400mAh (India), 50W fast charging (50% in 22 min), 7.5W reverse wired chargingSensors: In-display fingerprint sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Proximity sensor, CompassSpecial Features: Glyph Interface (63 mini-LEDs, 6 zones), Ultra HDR supportColors: Pink, White, Black, BlueWeight: 204.5gNothing Phone (4a) price in the PhilippinesThe Nothing Phone (4a) is available in the Philippines through Digital Walker and Beyond the Box.Official Pricing:    8GB + 128GB — ₱21,990    12GB + 256GB — ₱24,990    12GB + 512GB — ₱28,990The Nothing Phone (4a) continues to refine what the brand has been building over the past few releases. nubia Neo 5 GT Unboxing, First Impressions, Camera Samples – Flagship cooling, mid-range price tag

nubia’s next-level mid-range gaming phone debuts today — but does it have what it takes to run the current popular mobile titles? Let's take a look.nubia Neo 5 GTAnnounced at MWC 2026, the nubia Neo 5 GT features a more advanced cooling solution, with a built-in cooling fan on top of its large heat-dissipation area. It also packs the 1st Dimensity chip in the series, bringing stronger processing performance along with a large 1.5K AMOLED 144Hz display, and a large 6,210mAh battery. To be honest, there are more gaming features inside, so let's dig deeper.Unboxing/AccessoriesThe boxThe box sent to us came with a large flat square shape bearing the brand's logo at the top right corner. There are symmetrical patterns in gray and black colors, while you can also spot the Neo 05 GT branding and Game Master Suit at the center, as if we are opening a Gundam box.Inside the boxOpening it up, you'll see the unit itself, a transparent case, a 90-degree USB-C cable, an 80W Flash Charger, paperwork like the quick guide and warranty, and a SIM injector tool.More accessoriesThe next box includes fancy accessories for the nubia Neo 5 GT, such as an RGB pair of earbuds, an RGB USB-C cable, and another transparent case with magnets at the back.Build quality and DesignUpon taking hold of the nubia Neo 5 GT, we were immediately impressed with its construction. Despite using plastic frames, it feels sturdy enough and won't bend easily, indicating the company used a high-quality material. The phone's designIt's not certified with any drop resistance, though the hard plastic felt like it could somehow take a minimal hit. On the rear, you'll find glass material for its transparent look. We tried lightly scratching and grazing it with keys and coins, and surprisingly, there was no mark or whatever, even when inside our pocket. Still, for the best protection, we highly recommend attaching the case to prolong its appearance and prevent unwanted damage.Furthermore, it is even rated with IP64 protection for dust and splashes for most of the body. While vents on each side are rated at IP54. That's impressive engineering right there. Imagine a gaming phone that can survive unwanted dirt and splashes. The last device we've known that has it costs twice or thrice as much.A closer look at the nubia Neo 5 GTSpeaking of design, the Neo 5 GT reminded us of a fusion of the more expensive gaming brands like the REDMAGIC and ROG. There's the RGB eye design along with GT, which you can tweak via the dedicated app for different colors. While looking at the body, you'll find a transparent glass back with symmetrical patterns. Twisting and turning the phone will give you a transition of black, gray, and silver.By the way, it has both a flat surface on the front and the rear, which is suitable for gaming. Combined with ergonomic rounded corners will surely provide you with a comfortable grip during long gaming sessions. You can also spot nubia branding + Born to Win captions, while the above shows a chip design with gold markings. RGB lightsNow for the highlight, you'll also spot the RGB active cooling fan. Yes, you read that right. That means the nubia Neo 5 GT is the only device in its price range with such a feature. Additionally, it also has a very large 29,508mm² cooling area, making it one of the largest in a mid-range phone yet.The left shows the ventOn top of this, you'll find heat dissipation grills on both the left and right sides, ensuring the heat inside is pushed outside. The right side viewMoving your gaze to the right, you'll see the iconic Neo triggers enhanced to a 550Hz touch sampling rate and have less than 5ms hardware latency to aid you in your games. There are also the volume rockers and the power button covered with red paint.Up top, you'll find a microphone hole, while below, you'll see the USB-C port, SIM tray, another microphone hole, and speaker grill. Meanwhile, the speaker on the earpiece completes its stereo effect. The displayIn front, you'll find the spacious 6.8-inch AMOLED screen with 1.5K  resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and 4,500 nits peak brightness. It is also certified with SGS Low Blue Light for eye care, making it less fatiguing on extended usage.Initial gaming performanceInside the device is the 2.6Hz 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7400 octa-core processor and Mali-G615 MC2 GPU, paired with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM clocked at 6400MHz + 12GB virtual RAM and large 512GB memory. For the battery, it has 6,210mAh capacity paired with 80W fast charging. The AnTuTu scoreOur initial benchmark already showed a score of 1,075,888 points. That meets the requirements to run current-gen titles.MLBB settingsWe tested Mobile Legends Bang Bang, in which it ran at a stable 119-120 fps on Ultra graphics. Delta Force and CODM settingsMeanwhile, we also tried Delta Force, for which the processor is currently limited to 90 fps at smooth graphics settings. If you want upgraded visuals, you may still select HD settings, but the frame rate goes down to 30.If you want a balance of both, selecting standard graphics and ultra frame will give you 40 fps.We found similar performance when running Call of Duty Mobile as well. If you prioritize frame rate, you may hit the smooth graphics, then as you notch the visuals up, the frame rate goes down. In shooting games, we prefer having smoother animations to have faster response against multiple enemies or those who like to use surprise strategy. So maximizing the frame really helps. For thermals, we only encountered minimal warmth with zero frame drops. That's the result of combined VC cooling and the RGB fans. We've been playing on these in a room without air conditioning, so we can already tell how superb it can sustain the performance. Now, imagine gaming in these colder environments.Game SpaceThe Game SpaceThe nubia Neo 5 GT has a dedicated Game Space where you can view your favorite titles to tweak their settings. You can also turn ON or OFF the cooling fan as well as the RGB lighting, depending on your mood. This is also where you can modify your game triggers to assist you in battles. Speaking of which, the triggers are mostly usable for shooting games. It is fast and snappy and can give you an extra advantage, unlike pressing the buttons on a touchscreen. It also vibrates, giving you an immersive feel when gunning your enemies down the frontline. The feature also lets you view frame rates, battery percentage, time, and even connectivity. You can also boost your screen's max refresh rate up to 144Hz through this panel, though the experience may vary on the games you play. You can also change your settings, increase touch response, access the Demi chat helper, and get real-time in-game analysis to provide better tactics on supported games.Another favorite feature we liked is the bypass charging, which allowed us to continue gaming without hurting the phone's battery health while charging. The camerasFirst Camera SamplesOutdoor shot on the main camera 1xBeyond gaming, the nubia Neo 5 GT uses a 50MP main camera + 2MP secondary sensor + LED flash. Selfies are handled by the 16MP front sensor. For a gaming phone, it takes passable photos in well-lit areas. Zooming in on the image will give you a little noise on the sides, showing weakness in dynamic range. It captured the colors on the building, but the trees appeared soft.3x zoomIt can perform up to 3x in-sensor zoom. While the Shangri-la building's details have been retained mostly, the other areas weren't as good.Shot on a human subjectMeanwhile, it becomes different on human subjects. Evidently, capturing the kayumanggi skin tone correctly while showing a lot of details in both the subject and the background. Using the bokeh looks nice too. It did show a slightly creamy blur behind our subject.Indoor food shot in a yellow lighting environmentAnother indoor food shotFor indoor scenes, our food photos look decent with good colors and nice details. They are still passable for quick my days and reels.Low light sampleFor low light, the main camera does okay in some areas. But going on a slightly darker subject will give you a grainer, softer image. Using the zoom, on the other hand, will produce a reduced image quality.Selfie camera sampleFor selfies, we liked the output of the 16MP front camera. It has sharp details with good colors and dynamic range, making it readily available to post on social media.nubia Neo 5 GT 5G SpecsDisplay: 6.8-inch OLED screen w/ 144Hz refresh rate, 2720 x 1224 resolution resolution at 439 ppiCPU: 2.6GHz 4nm Dimensity 7400 octa-core processor GPU: Mali-G615 MC2RAM: 12GBROM: 512GBBack Camera: 50MP f/1.8 w/ PDAF + 2MP f/2.4 depth + LED flashSelfie Camera: 16MPBattery: 6,210mAh w/ 80W  USB-C Fast Charging, Bypass ChargingOS: Android 16 w/ MyOSConnectivity: WiFi 6 (2.4GHz/5GHz), 5G SA/NSA, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.4, OTG, NFC, GPS, dual SIMSensors: Accelerometer, light, orientation, proximity, gyroscope, sound, magneticOthers: In-Display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, DTS:X Ultra, 2x shoulder triggers, z-axis linear motor, 29,508mm² Multi-Layer Heat Dissipation System, Colors: Yellow, Gray, WhiteDimensions: 163.6 x 75.8 x 8.4 mmPrice: PHP 17,999 (12GB/256GB), PHP 19,999 (12GB/512GB)As of the momentGaming-wise, this truly makes the competition exciting for the mid-range segment. Especially if you are looking for premium features but still do not want to throw in big cash. You can get a reliable and effective RGB fan + VC cooling without breaking the bank, sharp visuals, a capable and efficient chip to run current popular games, a big 6,210mAh battery, 80W fast charging, and bypass charging. Moreover, there's a gamespace and triggers that you don't want to miss if you are an avid shooting game enthusiast. For now, this is interesting, and we can say that nubia observes the needs and wants of the gaming community, even for those in the entry-level and mid-range segments. What do you guys think?
